Updated: Sep 20, 2021

Here we are again for another Draft "Expert" Prospect Ranking list! Much like the last one, we will be looking at each quarterbacks most recent week and ranking them on how it may have effected their draft stock.

Now, if you don't like the list, don't worry, we will be making another one next week, and the one after that, and after that, and so on. So, without anyone delays, here are the Draft "Expert" Quarterback Prospect Rankings from week three!

Pre-Season: https://www.theloganblackmanshow.com/post/the-draft-expert-pre-season-2022-nfl-draft-prospect-rankings-offense

Week 1: https://www.theloganblackmanshow.com/post/the-draft-expert-wk-2-quarterback-prospect-rankings

Pictured: Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA/Sam Howell, North Carolina/Malik Willis, Liberty

1. Spencer Rattler, Oklahoma

Wk 2 - 20-26 243 yds 5 touchdowns 0 interceptions/4 carries 29 yds - 76-0 v Western Carolina (W)

Total - 50-65 547 yds 6 touchdowns 2 interceptions/12 carries 36 yds 1 touchdown

  • Though Rattler hasn't looked insanely amazing at the start of the season, he's still putting up very nice numbers and is still the number one quarterback for the 2022 NFL Draft. This week, Oklahoma will line up against another sub-par program in Nebraska. Rattler and co. should be looking to put up some very good offensive numbers against the Cornhuskers.

  • Pre-Season - 1

  • Wk 1 - 1

  • Wk 2 - 1

  • Wk 3 - v Nebraska

2. Malik Willis, Liberty

Wk 2 - 13-18 154 yds 2 touchdowns 0 interceptions/20 carries 93 yds 1 touchdown - 21-13 @ Troy (W)

Total - 28-41 371 yds 3 touchdowns/25 carries 148 yds 2 touchdowns

  • Malik Willis can do so many things that other quarterbacks in this draft just dream they could do. Like I've said numerous times, Willis' combination of athleticism and arm talent is extremely rare. Though he's not playing the toughest schedule, he still goes out there and puts on a show, whether it be through the air or on the ground. Willis and co. displaced a good Troy team on the road last weekend and will be hoping to do the same back at home against Old Dominion. Willis could put on a show against the Monarchs.

  • Pre-Season - 3

  • Wk 1 - 2

  • Wk 2 - 2

  • Wk 3 - v Old Dominion

3. Sam Howell, North Carolina (+1)

Wk 2 - 21-29 352 yds 3 touchdowns 0 interceptions/11 carries 104 yds 2 touchdowns - 59-17 v Georgia State (W)

Total - 38-61 560 yds 4 touchdowns 3 interceptions/24 carries 139 yds 2 touchdowns

  • Sam Howell bounced back from an awful week one to put on a very impressive display against Georgia State. Though the opponent won't wow anybody, Howell still managed over 350 passing yards and over 100 rushing yards, insane game regardless of who you are playing. This game was awesome for Howell to remind everyone of his talents as a passer and as a runner. His 57 yard bomb to Antoine Green showed off his impressive arm talent and his 62 yard run should his underrated athleticism. He may not be back to number two, but Howell is trending in the right direction.

  • Pre-Season - 2

  • Wk 1 - 4

  • Wk 2 - 3

  • Wk 3 - v Virginia

4. Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati (-1)

Wk 2 - 14-22 243 yds 2 touchdowns 0 interceptions/4 carries -4 yds - 42-7 v Murray State (W)

Total - 34-47 538 yds 6 touchdowns 1 interception/10 carries 27 yds 1 touchdown

  • After putting on a show week one against Miami (OH), Ridder found it a little more difficult to in week two against Murray State. Though he put up some decent numbers throwing the ball, his rushing stats are not indicative of Ridder as an athlete. Someone with the skillset of Desmond Ridder shouldn't register -4 yards on the ground, let alone against an average at best FCS team. This upcoming week will be bigger for Ridder as the Bearcats take on their first "real" opponent of the season, taking on Indiana on the road.

  • Pre-Season - 4

  • Wk 1 - 4

  • Wk 2 - 4

  • Wk 3 - @ Indiana

5. Matt Corral, Ole Miss (+1)

Wk 2 - 21-33 281 yds 5 touchdowns 0 interceptions/8 carries 35 yds 0 touchdowns - 54-17 v Austin Peay (W)

Total - 43-65 662 yds 6 touchdowns 0 interceptions/20 carries 90 yds 1 touchdown

  • Matt Corral has had a really good start to the 2021-22 college football season and is currently one of the front runners for the Heisman Trophy, and rightfully so. As far as his draft stock goes, I think he's still working his way up the list. Having started off this season (for me) at number eight, Corral has balled his way up to number five, and I expect him to keep rising if he keeps this level of play up and doesn't have any lapses in judgement like he did at times last season, i.e. throwing 11 interceptions in two games. Corral and Ole Miss properly swept aside Austin Peay last weekend, throwing for 281 yards and five touchdowns. This weekend Ole Miss will take on Tulane, I just hope Corral and co. don't struggle as much against the Green Wave as Oklahoma did week one.

  • Pre-Season - 8

  • Wk 1 - 6

  • Wk 2 - 5

  • Wk 3 - v Tulane

6. Carson Strong, Nevada (-1)

Wk 2 - 34-43 381 yds 4 touchdowns 0 interceptions/1 carry 4 yds 0 touchdowns - 49-10 v Idaho State (W)

Total - 22-39 312 yds 2 touchdowns 1 interception/3 carries 7 yds 0 touchdowns

  • Carson Strong is not the most mobile quarterback in the nation, but he may have one of the strongest arms in college football. Though I put him just below Rattler and Willis in regards to pure arm strength, Strong can rip the shit out of the ball. He started off slow week one against Cal before kicking it into high gear in the second half and put on a very nice display against Idaho State, throwing for 381 and 4 touchdowns. Strong may have moved down one spot but that's more of a testament to the dude ahead of him that it is a mark against Strong. This week will be a big test for Strong and Nevada as they take on Kansas State on the road.

  • Pre-Season - 5

  • Wk 1 - 5

  • Wk 2 - 6

  • Wk 3 - @ Kansas State

7. Jayden Daniels, Arizona State (+3)

Wk 2 - 20-29 175 yds 2 touchdowns 1 interception/13 carries 125 yds 0 touchdowns - 37-10 v UNLV (W)

Total - 30-41 307 yds 2 touchdowns 1 interception/19 carries 165 yds 0 touchdowns

  • Jayden Daniels moves up so high on the list due to not only a very impressive game but some key injuries and subpar play by some of the other quarterbacks that were ahead of him. If you've listened to my show long enough you'd know that I am very fond of the Arizona State quarterback. His combination of athleticism and arm talent make him very fun to watch. He's a very explosive quarterback and looks a lot like Lamar Jackson when he runs the ball due to his slender frame and electric speed. If Daniels keeps showing his improvements as a passer (and can knock off a top 25 team) he could keep moving up this list.

  • Pre-Season - 9

  • Wk 1 - 10

  • Wk 2 - 7

  • Wk 3 - @ no.23 BYU

8. Kedon Slovis, USC (-1)

Wk 2 - 27-42 223 yds 1 touchdown 1 interception/5 carries 25 yds 0 touchdowns - 28-42 v Stanford (L)

Total - 51-78 479 yds 3 touchdowns 1 interception/9 carries 32 yds 0 touchdowns

  • Slovis and co. struggled to a certain extent against San Jose State in week one, and those struggles were amplified as they were ass pounded by Stanford on the road 42-28 (a Stanford team that lost 24-7 to Kansas State). The result saw head coach Clay Helton getting fired (which no one should've been surprised about) and saw USC drop out of the top 25 from 14th. All in all, this was not a great week for USC. Slovis is one of my favorite quarterbacks in college football and in the upcoming draft, but if he keeps on stacking bad performances, he may find himself outside of the top 10 very soon. This week will have to be a big bounce back week for both Slovis and USC as a whole.

  • Pre-Season - 6

  • Wk 1 - 7

  • Wk 2 - 8

  • Wk 3 - @ Washington State

9. Phil Jurkovec, Boston College (out for season)

Wk 2 - 3-4 22 yds - 45-28 v UMass (W)

Total - 19-28 325 yds 3 touchdowns 0 interceptions/5 carries 61 yds 0 touchdowns

  • I feel really bad for Phil Jurkovec. After a very impressive week one that saw him lead both Boston College in passing and rushing yards while also getting a nice 51-0 win against Colgate. Now, it seems as if Jurkovec is out for the remainder of the season after getting surgery on his hand after injuring it during the first drive of the game against UMass. Though he may miss the remainder of the season, he should still be looked at as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2022 Draft class. His combination of size, arm strength, and underrated athleticism make him a fun quarterback to watch. Hopefully his hand injury doesn't hinder him too much in the future.

  • Pre-Season - 10

  • Wk 1 - 9

  • Wk 2 - 9

  • Wk 3 - @ Temple

10. Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA (NEW)

Wk 2 - BYE (played Hawaii wk 0 and LSU wk 1)

Total - 19-36 390 yds 4 touchdowns 1 interception/16 carries 21 yds 0 touchdowns

  • Like a few other quarterbacks on this list, if you've listened to my show long enough you'd know how much I like Dorian Thompson-Robinson, or DTR as he's affectionately known. This year was poised to big a big one for the senior out of Nevada, and both him and UCLA have put together some nice moments so far this season. After pushing Hawaii aside with relative ease, UCLA welcomed the then 16th ranked LSU Tigers to the Rose Bowl and beat them 38-27. Though I would like to see his competition percentage go up, DTR has all the tools to be an absolute beast at quarterback. He's gone through a lot while at UCLA, now he and his team are starting to reap the benefits as they are now in the top 25 for the first time since 2017, being ranked 13th.

  • Dillon Gabriel, UCF (NEW)
